Dutch Fashion Retail Sees 6% Sales Surge in October

Fashion retailers in the Netherlands reported a 6% increase in turnover for October 2024, according to the latest INretail Fashionpanel report. The rise was driven by a 5% jump in transactions, while the number of items sold grew by 3%.

For the first ten months of 2024, fashion retail turnover rose by 3% compared to the same period in 2023. Transactions increased by 1%. INretail pointed to opportunities for further growth, recommending that retailers reduce discounting to improve profit margins.

However, the Dutch shoe industry struggled in October, with turnover declining by 4%. Both the number of shoe transactions and pairs sold dropped by 4% and 6%, respectively.

The Netherlands continues to be a key hub for global fashion brands, serving as the regional headquarters for major names such as PVH, Chanel, Nike, and Just Brands.
