After starring in the new Chanel No. 25 campaign alongside Dua Lipa, House ambassador and Blackpink member Jennie will be at the 2025 Met Gala once again. We thought the Resort 2026 show on April 29th, set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Como, had already surpassed its predecessor, but for this unique event, Chanel went one step further to showcase the poetic designs of its world and the creative talents of its ateliers.
This year’s theme, “Made for You”, coincided with the fashion show’s spring exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring in Black”, giving Chanel the perfect opportunity to showcase its savoir faire. Jennie wore an off-the-shoulder black satin jumpsuit embellished with pearl cabochons, two strings of pearls and a white silk camellia adorned with jeweled buttons. A black satin overskirt lined with white taffeta added a dramatic twist to the elegant look.
Jennie’s style, with a two-tone hat and matching Chanel heels, was directly inspired by Coco Chanel and her designs from the 1920s and 30s. The Korean pop star’s look saw Chanel take this theme and go beyond it, reinterpreting the classic men’s suit with its signature modern elegance and femininity, a look that took more than 330 hours to create and showcased the House’s exquisite craftsmanship.
