Louis Vuitton Launches Makeup Collection. The French luxury house announced Wednesday morning that it is embarking on a new chapter in its beauty journey with La Beauté Louis Vuitton.
The new collection will feature a range of makeup products, including a reported 55 lipsticks, eight eyeshadow palettes, and 10 lip balms, with more to come. The 73 first products are expected to be available in the fall of 2025, and Louis Vuitton has not yet announced a specific date. Pricing has also not yet been announced.
Makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath will serve as creative director of the makeup collection. McGrath launched her own beauty line in 2015 and has created many of the best runway beauty looks of all time. Her responsibilities at Louis Vuitton include creating beauty looks for fashion shows, guiding product development, and more.
“I’ve worked behind the scenes of Louis Vuitton fashion shows for over 20 years and I’m thrilled to play such a key role in the launch of ‘La Beauté Louis Vuitton’. This collection is a culmination of extraordinary craftsmanship, creativity and innovation. The world of beauty is so much more than just the products and what we create here will unlock a whole new dimension in luxury beauty,” McGrath said in a press release.
The launch of the beauty collection also marks a full-circle moment for Louis Vuitton. While Louis Vuitton has been creating perfumes for nearly a century – a mainstay of its current product line – it was already involved in cosmetics in the 1920s, selling pressed powder and makeup brushes, for example.
“La Beauté Louis Vuitton is the embodiment of a natural evolution of the business, driven by our commitment to excellence in quality, recipes and innovation. Through this new world, we have the opportunity to further accompany our customers in their daily lives of meaning and pleasure, while continuing to celebrate our creativity and heritage,” said Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, in a press release.
