Skincare ingredients are known for being bizarre. The more bizarre, the more appealing they tend to be. Recent trends have shown this, with ingredients like salmon extract being considered holy grails. And for La Prairie fans, the fountain of youth of choice is caviar.
On Thursday morning, the high-end skincare company unveiled the latest addition to its famous Caviar collection: Hydra-Mel, a lightweight moisturizer that harnesses the delicious taste of caviar to deliver a host of skincare benefits.
While La Prairie already has a moisturizer in its Caviar collection, this new addition is designed for those who need a refreshing dose of hydration. Like the rest of the skincare line, the new face moisturizer is formulated with a hydrating, firming formula that helps fight the effects of aging.
In addition, the caviar proteins in Hydra-Mel work to strengthen the skin barrier and boost collagen production. The 70 ml moisturizer, which comes in the brand’s signature cobalt blue hue, retails for $415 and is available on La Prairie’s website and at select retail partners.
“Clinically proven, Skin Caviar Hydro Emulsion is the perfect wrinkle reducer to reveal firmer, younger-looking skin by reducing their number, depth and volume,” said Dr. Jacqueline Hill, La Prairie’s strategic innovation and scientific director, in a press release.
La Prairie’s newest 2025 Hydro Emulsion is the latest addition to its 2025 Caviar Firming Serum with added micronutrients. With each new launch, La Prairie proves that there’s no need to reinvent the formula. Instead, subtle tweaks to a carefully crafted formula can pay off.
