The union of art, geography and jewellery creation reached new heights with Bulgari’s new High Jewellery Collection (Polychroma), which made its world premiere at Taormina’s Teatro Greco.
The show redefined the standards of high jewellery, bringing 250 new pieces to the catwalk, including 60 millionaire pieces (a record number for the Maison) and five extraordinary jewellery pieces that embody the highest essence of Bulgari’s vision.
In the heart of Sicily, the Polychroma collection was presented as a visual and sensory narrative. Inspired by Greek tragedy, the collection was presented as a three-act colour drama that brought multiple languages to the stage: from bold jewellery designs to dance movements to sleek tailoring.
The models wore custom-made garments designed by Italian designer Francesco Murano, who interpreted this visual concept and further elevated the essence of the collection with fluid silhouettes, masterful draping and architectural structures.
As its name suggests, Polychroma celebrates the richness of color, rich in emotions and cultural heritage.
From Paraiba tourmalines to Colombian emeralds, from colored diamonds to Burmese rubies, precious gemstones become visual tools to express the fusion of Roman tradition and modern spirit.
Each piece presents an aesthetic microcosm: rings, necklaces, high-end watches and earrings, all transformed into wearable works of art.
The evening kicked off with a gala dinner at the Grand Hotel Timeo, overlooking Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea.
Caltagirone ceramics, local fruits and neoclassical sculptures together show the dialogue between Sicilian culture and Bulgari’s bold creativity.
At the Greek Theater, Bulgari High Jewelry creations were magnificently presented under the original choreography of Sir Wayne McGregor, resident choreographer of the Royal Ballet, transforming the ancient stage into a sensory experience suspended between myth and reality.
Many guests gathered in Taormina for Bulgari’s grand event. The event was attended by many international celebrities, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Lisa Manobal, Viola Davis and Liu Yifei, who also previewed new pieces from the Bulgari collection, highlighting the deep connection between Bulgari and the Roman Maison.
With the Polychroma collection, Bulgari has further elevated the art of jewelry. The collection is magnificent and luxurious, showing impeccable craftsmanship between cultural heritage and the test of virtuosity.
If the goal of the Polychroma collection was to redefine the boundaries of high jewelry, it succeeded on an aesthetic level.
