Bruna Marquezine is always busy. The actress, who recently starred in and directed the 2024 drama The Love of My Life (originally titled Amor da Minha Vida in Portuguese), has a beauty routine that allows her to take a break from long shoots or the latest campaign.
As such, she likes to keep it simple. Her beauty routine is often rooted in “embracing natural beauty while knowing how to elevate it in an effortless way,” she told L’OFFICIEL. For those looking to level up their makeup skills or enhance the contents of their vanity cabinet, Marquezine’s techniques can serve as inspiration.
The 29-year-old star prefers a makeup approach that focuses on highlighting her features, such as her eyebrows or eyes, something she learned while growing up in Brazil. “One trick I love is to use a little lipstick as blush and tap it lightly on my cheeks for a fresh, dewy look,” says Marquezine. “Of course, we focus on our brows the most – using a toothbrush or eyebrow brush with a little soap to keep them natural,” she adds.
When it comes to skincare, Marquezine also likes to keep it simple. She says she doesn’t like to have a fussy routine, instead focusing on moisturiser, lip balm and sunscreen. “Gua Sha and cold light rollers also play a big role,” she adds.
While recent beauty trends have put lip oils in the spotlight, Marquezine prefers lip gloss sticks, specifically YSL Beauty’s Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick in shade 02. The Leo model, who is an ambassador for YSL and a big fan of its products, also cites the YSL Couture Mini Clutch Eyeshadow Palette in shade 710 as one of her favourite colour products right now.
Looking ahead to the year ahead, Marquezine is excited about many beauty trends, including the continued popularity of glossy looks, but she’s hesitant to name her least favourite. After all, she says, “Beauty trends are about self-expression, so it doesn’t feel right to hate it!”
