The 108th edition of Pitti Uomo revealed on Wednesday that Homme Plissé Issey Miyake will be the guest of honor at the June 2025 menswear show, which will be held in Florence, Italy, from June 17 to 20.
“We are very honored to have the opportunity to present at one of the most prestigious menswear events in the world,” the Japanese brand’s design team said in a statement. “We will take this opportunity to present our Spring/Summer 2026 collection in Florence to a local and international audience, which is based on research and field trips we conducted during our trip to Italy.”
Previously, designers invited to serve as honorary guests of Pitti Uomo include fashion royalty such as Ann Demeulemeester, Marine Serre, SS Daley, etc. For the biannual menswear show, having Homme Plissé Issey Miyake take the star position is a long-awaited opportunity. “We have always wanted to associate this great Japanese brand with our activities,” said Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, in a press release.
“This is our way of recognizing and celebrating the quality, creativity and originality of the brand, as well as its global success – while also highlighting the brand’s current creative direction, which successfully reinterprets the quiet elegance of its founder, a designer and artist who left a lasting mark on the history of twentieth-century fashion.
As a fashion critic, I cannot afford to comment, but I could not help but be struck by the fusion of elegance, practicality, innovative use of color and materials, artistry and the concept of lightness in the work of Homme Plissé Issey Miyake,” continued Napoleone. “This vision is both a tribute to and a renewal of this strong and unique heritage.”
Homme Plissé Issey Miyake will present its fashion show on June 18 in Florence, at a yet-to-be-announced location. “Florence, as always, is ready to offer an evocative and unforgettable venue,” added Napoleone.
