If you’ve ever loved soapy nails but wanted to go a little deeper, you’re going to love this new nail art trend. While there are many universal shades of nude, there’s one neutral that we can’t help but keep in our nail clips: almond milk.
The popularity of creamy white nail polish has been around for a long time, and it’s nothing new. It embodies the “healthy manicure” we dream of, with a natural sheen. Instead of peach or flesh-colored hues, this trend focuses on sand and tan tones.
“Almond nails are so popular right now. Imagine your nails with a milk filter, like a creamy milk coffee, and it looks effortlessly luxurious,” says celebrity manicurist Michelle Humphrey.
What makes almond milk so popular is that it suits a variety of skin tones and creates a trendy, nearly invisible effect while adding a hint of beige. Think of almond milk as a nail polish.
“This color works well as both an opaque and translucent finish. If you love a minimalist polish and are after a soft, demure hue, Almond Milk is perfect for you,” she adds.
If you want to DIY this manicure trend at home, Humphrey suggests layering Essie’s Corset and Fairy Tailor shades. “The nude base creates a warm almond glow, while the lighter shade on top makes it look more creamy. This manicure will suit most skin tones, as the translucent shade blends with the natural tone of the nail bed,” she says.
