From sleek crew cuts to sleek Japanese cuts, we’re never short of bob inspiration. While it’s always best to choose a bob that suits your face shape rather than blindly following a trend, this latest style has been popping up on our hair inspiration boards. Meet the Luxe Bob.
This classic hairstyle exudes elegance and is the perfect way to capture the La Dolce Vita lifestyle we’re all after this summer. “The Luxe Bob is a classic look that’s slightly shorter in the front, which allows for a look that’s both glamorous and modern,” says hairstylist Nadia Dean of John Frieda Mayfair.
It’s bold, bouncy and defined, and it’s both elegant and sophisticated, yet still has a vintage feel. If you’re looking to rock a luxurious look, this is the style for you.
Dean says the Luxe Bob is particularly flattering on those with medium to thick hair, helping to accentuate your jawline. Unlike some of the more recent, effortless bobs, like the Feather Bob, this style requires some maintenance.
“This look does require styling and product, but if you can’t commit to some regular styling, maybe do it as a ‘going out look,’” Dean advises. We think the extra effort is totally worth it for the ultimate look.
When it comes to styling at home, Dean’s got you covered. “I recommend applying some Virtue Repair Oil to the lengths and shorts of your hair, then quickly blow-drying to remove any excess moisture. Afterwards, use a curling iron to create waves at the hairline at the front to add volume, lift and create luxurious texture.”
Allow the rollers to cool and set while you blow-dry the rest of your hair with a round brush to create shape, and finish with Sam McKnight’s Texturizing Spray to set everything in place, says Dean.
Yes, it does take some effort, but once it’s all done, you’ll be rewarded with a bang.
