Cynthia Erivo is irresistible, and she looked just as charming at the 2025 Tony Awards!
The 38-year-old Wicked star hosted this year’s Tony Awards in dramatic style, with not one, not two, not even five outfits. No, she wore 10 outfits to host the ceremony at Broadway’s most grand venue, Radio City Music Hall, on June 8.
Erivo hit the red carpet in a blush Schiaparelli ensemble with a structured velvet off-the-shoulder bustier that was covered in beads and pearls. The matching shift skirt fell to the ground, and the top was paired with a dramatic corset in the back.
Erivo then opened the show in a custom red embroidered sequined crystal gown by GapStudio, with a white duchess satin collar and belt. The gown was designed by Zac Posen, executive vice president and creative director of Gap Inc., and Erivo’s stylist Jason Bolden.
She wore the stunning gown as she sang the opening number surrounded by a large choir dressed in white.
But the look didn’t last long. She soon changed into a second look, this one a knee-length black dress with sequined roses adorning the bodice. The dress was embellished with feathery ruffles and more sequined roses, and the shorter hemline revealed the outline of her platform boots beneath it.
The actress then headed to the venue’s upper mezzanine to introduce Jonathan Groff’s stunning performance as Bobby Darin in Carpe Diem. She wore a hot pink balloon dress from Marc Jacobs’ 2025 runway collection, which was covered in oversized sequins. She accessorized with a pair of black patent leather pointed-toe pumps.
The Tony winner, who will next play George Clooney in Goodnight, and Good Luck, wore a fitted black and white tuxedo consisting of black pants and a white jacket with black lapels. Although she was only seated behind a table on stage, the following photos showed the outfit in all its glory.
Erivo once again set the stage for the 10th anniversary performance of Hamilton. The original cast reunited to perform a medley, and the Wicked actress warmly welcomed everyone to the stage in an ankle-length black and pink dress. The off-the-shoulder dress was tied at the waist with a pink belt that fell to the hem and was decorated with an oversized rosette. She also accessorized with black opera gloves and a lot of diamond jewelry.
While singing “In Memoriam” with Sara Bareilles, Erivo wore another shimmering gown in black and gold. This one featured a cape with a long skirt that fell to her feet. The black sequins were cleverly stitched together to bring out the gold sequins. The gown also came with long sleeves and a turtleneck.
Erivo made a brief appearance in the next look, joking with Oprah Winfrey on the show, wearing an oversized black puffy dress with sparkly details. She wore the dress over pants and a tube top. By the time the actress appeared on screen again, she had changed into a new “fitness look”!
Speaking of the “fit” piece, it was a black and gold trompe l’oeil beaded snakeskin print tailored trench coat with wide sleeves and an oversized collar, paired with a fitted corset from the Ashi Studio Spring/Summer 2025 collection. She wore the dress to welcome Auli’i Cravalho to the stage for her performance of “Real Women Have Curves.”
But that’s not all! She sang on the show for the last time, her tenth time. The gown was a shimmering purple number with a feathery pink off-the-shoulder neckline and a skirt embellished with feathers.
“I am so proud and excited to take on this glorious honor,” Erivo said in a statement after he was announced as host in February. “I look forward to leading the entire theater community through a night of great performances that we have witnessed all year. I hope I am up to the task.”
The Broadway star last attended the annual Tony Awards in 2016, when she won the Best Actress in a Musical award for her role as Celie in The Color Purple.
