Brooke Shields brought a very special accessory to the 2025 Tony Awards.
The 60-year-old actress attended Broadway’s biggest show on June 8 in a sexy red minidress paired with pointy-toe heels. The dress draped over the bodice and had an asymmetrical hem. She also accessorized with a diamond necklace and a red clutch to complement the dress and shoes.
But it was no ordinary red clutch.
The small red bag had “Radio City Music Hall” written on the front in silver stitching. Shields, who is the president of the Actors’ Equity Association, proudly showed off the bag as she posed for photos on the red carpet.
In an interview with People magazine, she shared the story behind this special piece and why she was so excited to carry it on such a big night for the theater.
“About 10 years ago, when they renovated Radio City [Music Hall], they took down all the curtains and made bags out of them, and my husband gave it to me — bought me a bag,” she said.
Shields also jokingly told People that she may “never work on Broadway again” as she continues to serve as president of the Actors’ Equity Association. She said tonight’s event is not only about Broadway, but about theater in general, and she hopes to continue fighting for “equality” across the board, no matter what it takes.
The actress has starred in Broadway shows such as Grease, Cabaret, Chicago and The Addams Family during her decades-long career.
Cynthia Erivo will host the 78th Tony Awards live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The ceremony will air live on the CBS Television Network and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET.
