At midnight on June 18, Taiwan time, the Italian classic brand MAX MARA presented the 2026 early spring series show in the magnificent La Reggia di Caserta.
As one of the three oldest palaces in Europe, the magnificent marble staircase of the Royal Palace of Caserta was transformed into the T stage of this show, perfectly reflecting the theme of “Italian elegance and female passion”.
Through this fashion feast, the brand traveled through the time tunnel, looking back to the early days of the brand in 1951, and paying tribute to the tough and elegant women of the Italian Renaissance in the post-war period.
Korean popular actress Lee Sung-kyung has a deep connection with MAX MARA. She was also invited to attend the show and sat in the front row.
Her airport outfit of a camel-colored sweater and trousers was simple and generous, while on the show she changed into a caramel-colored sweater and woolen long skirt combination, embellished with leather long gloves, exuding an elegant charm, accurately interpreting the theme of this season’s “female confident beauty”.
In the Italian castle, Lee Sung-kyung is like a real-life princess, complementing the image of Princess Jasmine she played in a recent stage play, and showing more affinity.
The Royal Palace of Caserta, where the show was held, with its Baroque-style architecture and majestic momentum, appropriately reflects the design proposition of this season – cleverly combining “Italian power” with “female curves”.
The inspiration of this series also dates back to the year when the brand was founded. The classic work “American Girl in Italy” shot by legendary photographer Ruth Orkin shows the charm of women walking confidently alone on the streets of a foreign country, and this powerful aura is the soul of the 2026 early spring series.
MAX MARA pays tribute to the tough charm of Italian women, and also draws on the classic images written by film masters – such as actress Sophia Loren, who has become a symbol of that era with her distinctive personality and elegant shape.
To recreate this historical sentiment, the brand has teamed up with E. Marinella, a century-old tie brand in Naples, to reinterpret the classic totems of the 1950s in silk pajama sets and giant embroidered sweaters, combining retro style with modern practicality.
The shorts worn by actress Silvana Mangano in the movie Riso Amaro also became one of the highlights of this series, giving the work a hint of sexy tension.
With handmade hats, bias-cut tailoring and warm milk tea tones, the “Bella Figure” charm pursued by Italian women is fully demonstrated.
From casual white shirts and fedoras to satin dresses, tulle dresses and over-the-knee boots, the series carefully depicts the street style of Naples, the romantic atmosphere of the Mediterranean and the multiple identities of modern women.
The brand’s iconic camel coat has also been reinterpreted this season, with waistline cutting, scarf-style collars and tassel designs, conveying the brand spirit of “classics can also keep pace with the times.”
