Bella Hadid’s red carpet moments at the Cannes Film Festival are fast becoming the stuff of legend – just yesterday, she defied the festival’s “no nudity” dress code on the Croisette in a figure-hugging black Saint Laurent dress with a high slit. Over the years, she’s worn vintage Versace looks, as well as the iconic see-through dresses that have become the star’s standard for nudity.
But Cannes queen Bella Hadid also shines in the intervals – like when she ate ice cream on the French seaside promenade in a headscarf dress that symbolizes her Palestinian heritage.
Photographed yesterday, the model strikes a demure pose, like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, in a black pleated poplin dress by Jacquemus with a soft corset (how else to wear Simon’s on the blissful French runway?), black leather slingback heels and a small leather bag, also from Jacquemus.
She styled her honey-blond hair into a low, center-parted bun, accessorizing with Chopard earrings, a chunky silver necklace with diamonds, and a pair of black rectangular shades. The look, the sunglasses—it was all Holly Golightly to me!
Stay tuned for Hadid’s next appearance—whether she’s wearing one of her much-praised vintage pieces while enjoying her next gelato meal on the promenade or taking a sidelong look at the new wave of dress codes in an outfit that subtly reveals some skin.
