The fourth annual Gold Gala took place in Los Angeles on Saturday night, bringing together a host of AAPI changemakers, cultural icons, and Hollywood stars. Sometimes referred to as the “AAPI Met Gala,” the event honors the year’s most influential AAPI leaders and advocates across entertainment, fashion, and business while celebrating representation and achievements. On the red carpet, guests wore a variety of traditional costumes, as well as some more provocative ones.
This year’s celebration was more spectacular than ever. Grey’s Anatomy star Sandra Oh made a royal return to the red carpet in an elegant dress from Kallmeyer’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection designed by Alicia Lombardini. Former L’OFFICIEL cover star Megan Thee Stallion, who has long championed Asian American culture, made a stunning appearance in a dramatic, sheer, sculptural gown designed by Quine Li. Brenda Song brought a sleek and sophisticated look, and other guests included Sunisa Lee, Laufey, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Wicked director Jon M. Chu.
Oscar-winning director Ang Lee received the Gold Legend Award. Megan received the One House Award. The Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara received the Gold Legend Award with Pikachu. Laufey received the Billboard Song Award.
Gold House, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing Asian Pacific American creatives and businesses, used the event as a platform to highlight its A100 list, an annual list of the 100 most influential Asian Pacific American people. From historic award winners to rising stars, the gala highlighted the power of visibility and the importance of community.
