In 2023, Fara Homidi launched her beauty brand, which quickly gained a following for its unique packaging and sophisticated formulas. Now, the makeup artist and founder is expanding her product line with a bronzer just in time for summer.
The unique foundation formula took three years to develop and ten iterations to produce, and the results are clear, according to Homidi.
“I studied how real bronze looks on the skin and wanted to create a vivid, sun-kissed finish. Many bronzers on the market look too orange, too red, or too dry on the skin.
When developing Lumi-Matte Soft Suede, I knew the texture needed to set and last on its own, while also giving a skin-like glow,” Homidi said in an email. “The answer was a foundation that acts like a cream, and that’s what I created. It’s definitely the first formula of its kind.”
The basic bronzer retails for $78 in four shades and comes with a $68 vegan bristle brush designed to help blend the product for better results. The new bronzer has a matte finish, is self-setting, and has skincare benefits, and is refillable.
“Every formula I create is enriched with skin-loving ingredients that feel good on the skin and look good on the eyes. Many also have functional properties that enhance the beauty of the product. Lumi-Matte Soft Suede is formulated with humectants, snow mushroom, and hyaluronic acid,” Homidi says, which boost hydration for a radiant complexion.
Homidi believes the best way to apply bronzer is with her “shadow” technique, which is “a combination of contour and bronzer. Guiding the brush upward, apply foundation to the cheekbones slightly higher than a traditional bronzer or contour powder, and pull upward at the temples,” she explains.
“Then I complete the look by applying foundation under the jawline, across the bridge of the nose, and along the chin. The result is a tight, eye-catching summer glow.”
Both the basic bronzer and the shadow brush are available on the brand’s website on Wednesday. They will be available at additional retailers starting June 23, including Sephora online, Violet Grey, Dover Street Parfums Market, Moda Operandi, and more.
